Woodsy’s Life

Hurts So Good

Good Morning, Bad start.

well, I ran out to take out the trash before the garbage man arrived at our house. Still in my pajamas, I darted out to the curb. Recycling…check. Garbage can…check. Unlocked door? Locked door…check.
With no cell phone or keys, I couldn’t even ask my neighbor to use their phone. I doubt speed dial two calls my wife on their phone. So … Read Morestanding in my garage all I had was a knife and hammer from my tool kit.
So I started cutting away, right through the dry-wall. I got through the first wall, then had to pull out the insulation then cut through the second wall.
Finally getting enough room to reach through to my door knob. I slide and scrape my arm until I am able to unlock the door and walk in. I was expecting my dog to be standing there with curiosity…Nope! She was upstairs cowering. Not much of a guard dog is she?

  2. that couldn’t be more ridiculous. i have done some really ridiculous things in my life without ever needing to cut a hole in my house. i probably would have gone to the neighbors…411′d amanda’s work number and then probably called her to come let me in. OR cut a massive hole in my wall. your way seems more efficient and cost effective.

can we just call it right now that scott may need to be in a nursing home before his parents??

  3. I should have told you this a long time ago.
All you need is a thin piece of card board. Like the kind that is used for Pepsi/Coke 12 pack cans, etc.
You take about an 8″ x 8″ piece of the card board and fold it over. Slide the folded side between the door and the door frame exactly where the door knob is.
(Note: will not work if the dead bolt is locked)
It will be best to go in at an angle so the card board can catch the angle of the latch and slide it up to push the latch back. While you are doing this put some pressure on the door with your shoulder so when the latch retracts the door will open.
Michelle accidently locked me out a few times. Well I don’t know if she accidently locked me out. However, it has always worked for me. I even had a neighbor that was locked out of his home and I was able to do the same thing for him.
By the way, how’s the patch job coming along?!
Call me sometime; we need to get together for dinner or something!
